Flower vs Vape vs Edible: Which Format Fits You
Same plant, very different experiences
The format you choose changes almost everything about how a product feels: how fast it comes on, how long it lasts, how much control you have over the dose, and how noticeable it is.
Flower
Onset: a few minutes. Duration: two to three hours.
Cannabis flower is the traditional format and still the most popular at our counter. You get the full terpene profile, immediate feedback on dose, and the lowest cost per milligram of THC.
The trade-offs are smell, smoke, and the need for equipment. If discretion matters, this is not the format.
Vape carts
Onset: a few minutes. Duration: one to three hours.
Vape carts give you flower-like onset in a pocket-sized device with far less odor. Distillate carts are potent and inexpensive; live resin carts cost more and taste dramatically better.
The main caution: they are easy to over-use precisely because they are easy. Take one draw and wait.
Edibles
Onset: 30 to 120 minutes. Duration: four to eight hours.
Edibles are the most precisely dosed products in the store — the milligram count is printed on the package — and the longest-lasting. They are also the format that most often catches people out, because the delay tempts you into a second dose too early.
Start at 2.5 to 5 mg if you are new. Wait two full hours before deciding anything. See the edible dosing guide for the full walkthrough.
Pre-rolls and concentrates
Pre-rolls behave like flower without the prep work — a good way to try a cultivar before buying an eighth. Concentrates are the most potent category in the store and are best left until you know your tolerance well.

Pick by the day, not by the label
Most regular patients keep two or three formats around and choose by situation. Ask a budtender what is fresh, browse today''s live menu, or check the current deals before you decide.
