Do Dispensaries in Norman Take Debit Cards? Payment, ATMs and What to Bring
The short answer
Most dispensaries in Norman — and across Oklahoma — run on cash. Some accept debit cards through a workaround, very few accept credit cards, and mobile wallets are rare.
At Pharmer's Market on Lindsey, we accept cash and have an ATM inside the store. Know the menu price before you visit, and one stop at the machine covers it.
Why cash is still the standard
Cannabis is legal for licensed patients under Oklahoma law but remains illegal under federal law, and banks and card networks are federally regulated. Most will not process cannabis transactions, and those that do can change their minds without notice. Dispensaries that "take cards" usually rely on a cashless-ATM setup that converts your card payment into a cash-equivalent withdrawal, complete with a fee, rounding to the nearest bill and the occasional decline.
Cash avoids all of that, which is why you will find an ATM in nearly every dispensary in town.
What to bring
- Your OMMA patient license. The physical card, or your OMMA approval email or MedPortal approval if the card has not arrived yet.
- Government-issued photo ID. Your license is verified against the state system, and staff will match it to your ID.
- Cash, or a debit card for the ATM.
- Your order, if you placed one. Browse the live menu and order through Weedmaps so it is ready when you arrive.

Tips for cash-based shopping
- Check the live menu first. Prices on the live menu are current, so you can plan exactly what you need. Oklahoma adds a 7% medical marijuana excise tax plus state and local sales tax on top of the listed price, so budget a little extra.
- Use the ATM in the store. It is inside, so there is no separate stop on the way.
- Watch the Deals page. Specials change; knowing them in advance keeps the total predictable.
Can I pay by card when I order online?
You can browse and place an order through Weedmaps from our live menu, but payment happens in the store when you pick up.
Caregivers
Licensed caregivers purchasing on behalf of a patient follow the same process: bring your caregiver license and photo ID, and pay with cash.
